ZSSF INCREASES ONE PERCENT (1%) OF COMPENSATION BENEFIT
Zanzibar Social Security Fund has introduced the Employment Injury Benefit as one among the six (6) under the Zanzibar Social Security Fund Act, No.2 of 2005 through the Written Law (Miscellaneous Amendment) Act No.10 of 2022 to all ZSSF members from both public and private sectors in Zanzibar.
Upon the introduction of this benefit, the provision of section 8 (a) and (b) of the Written Law (Miscellaneous Amendment) Act No.10 of 2022 requires every employer to contribute an additional one percent (1%) of member’s salary every month which will make the total contribution of employer to change from 13% to 14% per month and all employers are supposed to contribute and submit 21% contribution instead of 20% contribution with effect from January, 2023.
